About
The very name, "Holy Scum," practically demands to be spat out with a visceral snarl, a fitting descriptor for the bludgeoning sludge and feedback-drenched improv rock conjured by its creators.
Initially forged in the industrial heart of Manchester, Holy Scum emerged from a potent collaboration between guitarist Peter J Taylor (formerly of Action Beat), Gnod co-founder Chris Haslam on bass, and his bandmate Jon Perry on drums. Their dense improvisational jams, born deep within the walls of a Victorian mill, were meticulously deconstructed and sculpted by Mike Mare (aka Mike Manteca) of the legendary hip-hop duo Dälek for their debut record, "Strange Desires."
Now, Holy Scum returns with their latest offering, "All We Have Is Never." Recorded over an intense week at the remote Black Bay studios on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland, this new sonic chapter sees the band bolstered by the formidable addition of guitarist Al Wilson (Gnod, Ghold).
